Create a network load balancing cluster
Network load balancing distribute TCP/IP traffic among each server node in a cluster. When the main Exchange Server is down, the Exchange Server in the cluster take over until the main Exchange Server is back up and running.
- Go to Start | Administrative Tools | Network Load Balancing Manager
- Click Cluster menu and select New
3. Type in the IP address.
4. In Cluster operation mode select Unicast or Multicast. Unicast: The cluster is seen as one physical IP host on the network and each node shares a common network media access control (MAC) address. Multicast: allows each cluster node to be seen by its own MAC and IP address on the network.
5. Click Next

5. Click Next
6. Click Add if you want to add an additional cluster IP addresses or else click Next
7. Enter IP Address and Subnet mask. Click OK
8. Select the IP Address and click Next
9. Click Next
10. Select Local Area Connection and click Next
11. Click Finish
12. A few minutes later the hourglass disappear and your server status is listed as Converged
