Creating Batch File to Delete Temporary Internet Files
If you want to save time by creating a batch file that when you click on it it will automatically delete the temporary internet file for you. Or you can place the batch file in the task scheduler and set it to run automatically.
- Open Notepad (Start>Run>Type Notepad or Start>Programs>Accessories>Notepad)
- Type dels "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\*.*" (The user name will be the name you use to log in)
- Type dels "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\*.*"
- If you want to delete Temporary Internet Files from other user repeat step 2 and 3 (Make sure to change the user name)
- Click File and select Save As
- Navigate to where you want to save it
- Name it and Make sure at the end of the name you add .bat
- Click OK
- Now navigate to where you save it and click on it
- A Command prompt appear
