Most people are under the impression that when you erase a files, folders and ect, it is totally gone from their computer. Unfortunately this is not the case. File Allocation Table (FAT) is what keeping track were everything is on a disk. When a file is deleted, the FAT update the table by noting in the table that the space is empty. To recover the file that was deleted, depend on the method of deletion, you can recover it. Most item that you delete will go into the recycle bin. But if you use SHIFT+DELETE then the files that you delete bypass the recycle bin and gone. This is where a software comes in.
