How to allow a user to send an email on behalf of another user or email account
Sometime a user will need to send an email or respond to an email on behalf of someone else. For example if you work in finance department let say Account Payable. You would have your own email and sometime you will have another mailbox called Account Payable where vendors can use to communicate with an account payable personnel. The account payable personnel will need to reply, but he or she can't do that unless the person have the permission to send as someone else.
- Open Active Directory Users and Computers
- Go to View menu and select Advanced Features
- Double-click the account to you want to allows someone else to be able to send email on behalf of
- Go to Security tab
- Click Add button
- In Enter the object name to select box, type in the name of the user that you want to be able to send on behalf of
- Click Check Name
- Click OK
- While that user is selected, in the Permission for (username), scroll down to Send As
- Check the box Send As in the Allow side
- Click Apply
- Click OK
- Sometime it takes times for this to settings to take effect
- Have the user restart outlook
