Turn Off Windows Firewall
If you are running a system with SP1, you will not have Windows Firewall functionality. Windows Firewall came with Windows XP Service Pack 2 or above. You must have Administrative privilege to turn on or off windows firewall.
1. Click Start > Control Panel
2. Double-click Windows Firewall
2. Double-click Windows Firewall
3. Click Off (Not recommended) and click OK
Note: It is not recommended that you turn off your windows firewall unless you have another firewall running. If you don't after you turn it off, the computer will let you know that your firewall is turn off with a red shield in the system tray (Bottom right)
