What to do when the printer does not print
Sometime for no reason your printer stop printing. One of the reason are updates that may have update your old driver and the other are usually has something to do with the hardware. Below are the list that you can try to check or do to get the printer start printing again.
Local Printer

NOTE: When printer print out junk character it usually mean that the correct driver was not installed.
Local Printer
- Check to make sure that the printer is on
- Check to make sure all cables are connected
- Check any indicator light other then go light
- Check for paper jam
- Press button to reset the printer (Check manual)
- Turn off and turn on
- Reinstall driver. Some driver will come with PCL and PS. If one does not work try installing the other.
Network Printer
- Try the above steps
- If the printer is attach to a print server device, check the attach print server to make sure there is no error and that it is on
- Check that the IP address is still the same
- Ping the IP address of the printer to make sure it is able to communicate with the printer
- Make sure that when using a print server, it is compatible with the printer
- Make sure there is no IP address conflict with other devices on the network
Other:
- If non of the above steps do not work, there maybe a hardware issues
- Try replacing the print server
- Try replacing another printer cable (Parallel or USB)
- Try replacing another printer
